Lactation Consultation
Whether you’re facing low milk supply, prematurity, painful nursing, or insufficient baby weight gain, we are here to help. We listen to your needs and assist you in navigating the challenges of feeding your baby. Our experienced lactation consultants can support you with issues like tongue-tie, transitioning back to work, or nursing multiple-aged children for those interested in tandem nursing.
With over 20 years of experience supporting families, our Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) offers personalized assistance for expectant and breastfeeding families.
Consultation Services Include:
- Assistance with latch and poor transfer
- Care plans to increase milk supply, decrease pain, and help baby nurse more efficiently
- Guidance for introduction to first foods and instruction to baby-led weaning
- Helping moms with engorgement and pain while nursing
- Infant feeding plans for slow or poor weight gain
- Weight pre and post feed
- Effective pump use, flange fitting and pump scheduling

Welcoming Birth and Baby
This course offers expectant parents a comprehensive understanding of labor and childbirth. We will explore both natural birth and medical techniques, utilizing the InJoy curriculum, which includes an application, handouts, and video links for home study. Additionally, we will discuss birth preferences and labor tools, such as breathing techniques and massage, to help you prepare confidently for the arrival of your baby.
Welcoming Birth is perfect to use as a refresher if you have had previous children. If your due date is rapidly approaching, reach out and let us create a private class customized for you. Each class is tailored to your needs so we can help you write your unique birth story.
Topics presented and discussed include:
- Understanding Labor & Birth: Recognizing how amazing our body is, learning to embrace the process of labor and birth as we discuss the anatomy and physiology of the labor process.
Medical Interventions: Learn why and when common medical interventions may be necessary. Discuss Cesarean Birth, Induction, Medical pain management, and other tools utilized in labor. Emphasis will be placed on the awareness that most births proceed without intervention, while also recognizing when such interventions become necessary.
Deciding Your Birth Preferences: Create a birth preference plan to share with your providers, outlining your hopes for labor. This will help you communicate your wishes and concerns about pregnancy, labor, and infant care with your labor support and medical team.
- Comfort Strategies: Understanding how your mind and body work together to cope, comfort techniques, breathing, medical options and positions for maximum relaxation.
- Tools for your support person: Timing contractions, learning massage and most importantly understanding how your presence improves labor outcomes.

Baby Care
This class prepares you for life at home with your baby. By using life sized dolls for hands-on practice, each family acquires a true sense of what holding, swaddling, diaper changing, and baby-wearing will feel like once their baby arrives. This is a special opportunity to build confidence by practicing!
Whether this is a completely new experience, or you just need a refresher – we’ve got you covered!

- Post-birth procedures and testing
- Bathing, diapering and dressing
- Soothing and comforting
- Infant sleep

Breastfeeding
This class prepares you for your infant feeding journey by arming you with the information that leads to your success. We know that breastfeeding is as beautiful as it is complex, and that it requires a tremendous amount of support. We also know the realities of infant feeding and will help you set realistic goals and expectations for the early days and weeks of feeding your newborn.

CPR
Infant CPR and Choking
Empower yourself with the lifesaving skills of Infant CPR to ensure the safety of your little one. This essential class also guides you on what to do in the event of choking or airway blockages, from mild to severe. Led by an American Heart Association Certified Instructor, you’ll receive top-notch training.
Experience a dynamic group environment where you’ll learn using the American Heart Association’s effective practice-while-watching technique, maximizing your hands-on CPR practice. Our instructors create a supportive and relaxed atmosphere, dedicated to building your confidence as a caregiver.
The class fee includes all registration costs and essential training materials.
